PSL achieves CMMI level 5
Medellín, Colombia,
July 25 , 2003
Dear clients, friends and business
allies,
Today, PSL has been officially assessed
at CMMI level 5, the Software Engineering Institutes
(SEI) highest level in CMM Integration Model. The SCAMPI A
assessment was conducted by a SEI authorized North America
based company.
CMMI is the most recent model developed
by Carnegie Mellons SEI, and embodies the worlds
state-of-the-art practices in software (SW-CMM) and systems
engineering (SE-CMM). CMMI level 5 is significantly more demanding
than the prestigious SW-CMM level 5, previously attained by
PSL in December 2002.
Until today, only 7 companies in the
world had announced the achievement of CMMI in its highest
echelon (level 5), namely: Lockheed Martin Management &
Data Systems, General Electric, Infotech, Infosys, Wipro Technologies,
SSI Technologies, and Larsen. PSL now joins this highly select
group. This remarkable achievement makes Colombia, together
with the United States and India, one of only three countries
in the world housing industries that fulfill this maturity
level in CMMI.
Attaining CMMI level 5 reinforces our
promise to deliver "first-world software at third world
prices". Our achievement validates PSLs unfaltering
commitment to offer second-to-none software development services,
offshore services, and products, that will meet or exceed
our clients expectations.
Our achievements in CMM, CMMI, Six
Sigma and ISO are living proofs that our company has the potential
to innovate, and become pioneer in areas that are redefining
the frontiers of human knowledge. Underdevelopment is a cultural
problem, not an economic one. The potential to overcome it
lies in the conviction and dedication of a group of determined
individuals who embrace a common goal, and will not let the
paradigms of the world dictate what they can or cannot accomplish.
To our clients, business allies and
friends, rest assured that we will not falter in our quest
for quality, productivity and performance. At PSL, excellence
is a process of constantly challenging our own capacities
and overtaking our previous accomplishments after all,
one of the few certainties of the modern world is that it
will not cease to outpace itself.
Best regards,
Jorge Aramburo
CEO, PSL Corporation
